Safety valves dependent of back pressure, spring-loaded.

ASME safety relief valves

AWP’s SVA safety valves are designed for installation in the refrigerant or heat pump cycles of industrial refrigeration systems. By default safety valves are meant for protecting refrigeration or heat pump systems and their components from excess pressure. They comply with the technical regulations of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, section XIII - Rules for Overpressure Protection. Once the set response pressure is reached AWP safety valves begin to open. They open within a 10 % pressure increase until the designed limit of the lift is reached. When the pressure drops again they start closing once the set response pressure is reached. They are completely closed within a pressure drop of 10 % below the set reponse pressure. These valves work dependently of back pressure.
